2020 Annual Meeting

Please note that this meeting is now postponed until a further date. New date is yet to be confirmed.

In addition to the prestigious John Farndon and BJS invited lectures the Dublin meeting will provide trainees with the opportunity to present their work to Senior Surgical Consultants and their peers and compete for the numerous prizes which will be on offer for the best presentations in selected categories.  The prizes include travel and accommodation bursaries to attend and present at International Surgical Research Societies in Europe, South Africa and America.  At the 2020 Dublin meeting trainees will be provided with the opportunity to participate in surgical skills trainee workshops in the new Simulation Facilities at RCSI 26 York Street and to present work in a Dragon’s Den session.

SARS has committed to supporting a high-quality future project proposal by a collaborative in the UK or Ireland at our 2020 annual meeting which is being held in Dublin on the 19-20th March 2020. A ‘Dragon’s Den’ type session with the top 5 selected abstracts will present at the meeting with a chance to win €4000 in support of the project. In order to apply the Dragon’s Den Collaborative Form will need to be completed and returned to the SARS Secretariat. The project can be at any stage of development and we would like to see consideration of the team and project delivery, the perceived novelty and importance of the study, and what the funding would be used for. The prize is open to both new and existing collaboratives.

The closing date for abstracts will be 23:59 on January 7th 2020 and the form should be completed and emailed to the SRS Secretariat for the collaborative session only.
